Cathy Weber’s work is widely recognized for its lovingly rendered vision of commonplace objects.  She has placed them in the context of artist’s books, quilts, illuminated manuscripts, cartographic elements and architectural construction. The result poetically addresses spirit, emotion, nature and politics. She feels increased urgency to make things of beauty in response to war, injustice, greed and violence. Making images of common, simple objects gives her comfort and hope for weathering the human condition. "What best motivates me in my work is the potential to uncover, expose and describe the sacred," she writes. “The fruits of the earth and the human heart offer the language. Working is the prayer.”
