Ceramic birds
These are the basic $55.00 porcelain bird. They are available in lots of colors. Feel free to email me and I can send you images of what is on hand at the moment. Each one is individually hand-made so I can’t reproduce the stance or color exactly. I have several options for mounting your bird on a table or a wall. Scroll down this page to see them.
I have tended to avoid being species-specific with the birds but I was unable to resist making a version of red wing blackbirds. They beg to be put together in flocks. The red wing blackbirds are $65.00 each.
Some of the birds are carved, unglazed porcelain. I coat the damp bird with a colored clay called “slip”, let it dry a bit and then carve through it to the white clay. It is then fired in the kiln to 2269 degrees, just like the glazed birds. Here is the result. They are $95 each.
The birds that made up the murmerations on the walls of my museum exhibit Understory/Overstory are available for $70 each. |
